Wikipedia: "in the UK, a hardcover book could be considered a "bestseller" with sales of between 4,000 and 25,000 copies per week, and in Canada, the rule of thumb is 5,000 copies per week, though the number is still relative -- a book can be considered a bestseller in relation to other books, without ever reaching that threshhold."
